When you think of the Post Stampede, many think a wild rodeo in August. Others may think of just a bunch of cowboys having a good time at a dance.  While that is what draws the most attention, the Post Stampede is a lot more than a weekend of fun.

The Post Stampede board has always had one goal with every event they produce: raise funds to help the needs of our local and surrounding youth

That is why the Post Stampede Rodeo is pleased to announce the continuation of the Post Stampede Scholarship.  The scholarship is created to support students in the Garza County and surrounding areas.

The principle aim of the scholarship program is to offer financial support to senior students in the area that have goals to continue their adult life in the western or agricultural industry.

To be considered for the Post Stampede Scholarship, applicants are asked to maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher and write two essays.  They are asked for transcripts, and a resume of their high school activities.  Applicants are required to obtain at least one letter of recommendation.

Another requirement to be eligible for the scholarships is applicants are required to volunteer at the Post Stampede Rodeo or other events held at the Post Stampede Arena in Post, Texas.  Volunteers are asked to help with such things as being on the feed crew during the rodeo, help with arena maintenance, clean up after events, sort livestock, work chutes, carry a flag on horseback and more.
